The Idea of Being Permanently Happy
If you’re waiting for something special to happen or someone special to come into your life because this would, in your mind make you permanently happy you’re wasting your time and energy. And we all know that both these things are predetermined. So stop wasting your vital time and mental energy sitting idle at home and worrying about the future brings. That’s ridiculous.
- If you want to change your life you need to take intentional action.
- If you want to be happy you need to decrease your suffering first.
So ask yourself a question: If I wanted to spend 30 minutes making my life more peaceful what would I have to do?
Trust me, the moment you ask yourself this question, the things you can fix, improve and adjust will pop up in your head immediately. So take a piece of paper and a pen, stand up straight with your shoulders straight, open your eyes wide, look around you and ask yourself: What I should improve in myself and my environment in order to decrease my suffering?
Then write your answers down and start doing these things. Start improving yourself and your life now. Stop being awfully fixated on things that may never happen or some imaginary people that you may never meet.
- Start where you can start.
- Fix the things that announce themselves as in the need to be repaired and improve your relationships with people you truly care about.
You can do both of these things immediately. Just call your friend, significant other, family member or co-worker, ask them how they want to spend quality time with you and make an appointment. In the meantime declutter your external personal space, aka clean your room, wash the dishes, make a laundry, take out the trash. When you’re done there, make a list of things that will make you less unhappy and more happy and start doing them. That’s it. It’s that simple.
Embrace the Chaos and Move Forward in Life
The fear of the unknown can become a debilitating phobia but only if you let it. It will happen if you decide to sit, worrying about what the future and beating yourself up for not being perfect instead of taking an action. If you want to change your life you need to take action in spite of not knowing what result it will produce. Besides, the truth is, we never know what outcome your actions will produce.
So maybe you’re worrying too much about the things you cannot control? Have you ever thought about that?
Life is complex, unpredictable and just filled with unexpected surprises that make you unable to predict what happens next. But isn’t it exactly what makes our existence so exciting, interesting and worth living?
The truth is that sometimes we don’t know what’s best for us or what’s truly meant to be until it just surprises us.
Life is life. It’s beautiful when we make it beautiful.
And regardless of the circumstances, you can always make your life more happy and less unhappy. It depends only on you how you choose to live your life experience.
Of course, I’m not saying that you can control everything because that’s not true. What I mean, is that there are so many things in your life that you can control but most of them you don’t even notice them because you are so fixated on those few that are beyond your control.
Well, that needs to change if you want to reduce your suffering and increase your happiness.
So, yes. This is the exact moment when you need to ask yourself a question: What are the things in my life I can control and what are those beyond my control?
But you need to ask yourself this question out loud, write down your answers and examine them closely in order to be sure of that.
Things that you can control in this particular moment are the things you can change, improve or fix immediately. However, if you want to establish with any degree of accuracy the field of your competence in this matter you need to be a humble and reasonable person. Otherwise, you will only be wasting your precious time and energy trying to change the things that are beyond your control. Start where you can start.Start with some small steps in the right direction.
What is Going to Happen Next…
Every action you take produces a reaction of the Universe. Then you can examine this particular reaction and act accordingly. Only the action of working out will get the result you’re looking to achieve. So if you feel anxious, overwhelmed and completely out of control of your life it’s because you are a scared and passive observer of your life.
If you want to change something you need to become an active participant.
Nothing happens by itself.
You need to take your life into your own hands and do something good for yourself… and others.
So take a deep breath, release the expectations of now knowing what the outcome of your life is and take one step forward. Literally, move your b*tt and do something from your list of things you CAN fix, adjust or change immediately. But don’t start with your most difficult task because it may be too damn hard to achieve right away. Instead, you should tackle your easiest task first to gain confidence. Remember that confidence is built on accomplishment, not the other way around.
Start small but smart. Take intentional action. Fix one thing from your list of things that announce themselves as in need to be repaired. It can be anything. Just get yourself in motion and do it intentionally. If you want to change your life you need to take action.
Just stop overthinking and overanalyzing everything because it only makes you feel more stuck, anxious and overwhelmed.
Stop your negative thoughts from eating you alive.
Destroy debilitating fear of the unknown with your action.
Stop waiting for motivation, create it.
The Magic of Taking Intentional Action
So you unhappily waiting for something or someone to change your state of being. But nothing, absolutely nothing positive happens. For some reason, things aren’t progressing as they should. The funny thing is, you know exactly why there is no noticeable improvement in your life. Nothing has changed for the better because you were standing back passively and waiting for motivation to come. That’s exactly the reason why.
There is this huge misconception about the motivation that creates action, but it’s actually the other way around. It’s an action that creates motivation. Furthermore, the more you do the more motivated you become. It happens because the moment you start noticing your accomplishments your appetite for success growths. And what happens? Well, you start working on improving yourself.
So if you feel unhappy, sitting and waiting for something or someone to change that’s a huge waste of time, energy and your potential.
You don’t search for happiness, you create it. So stop waiting for happy moments to happen and start designing your life. Stop looking for excuses. Just move your b*tt. Accept that you don’t need to have everything figured out in life to take an action. You can create an amazing outcome without knowing exactly what you want to achieve.
Life is an experiment you never know what results your actions will have but if you stay where you are you will never move forward and you will only get more and more stuck, anxious and unhappy.
You know exactly what you need to do. If you want to overcome feeling blah you need to take intentional action here and now. So fix what you can fix. Change what you can change. Accept what you cannot control and create your happiness. Decrease your suffering and increase your happiness with your actions.
And when you feel a bit better, don’t rest on your laurels. Keep moving forward. Don’t take anything for granted. Life is unpredictable and you never know what’s going to happen next. So embrace the creator role, take advantage of unexpected opportunities when they present themselves and design your life. Stop waiting for happiness, create your state of permanent happiness here and now.
