From Observer To Creator

Let’s state the OBVIOUS:

You are a WARRIOR

You are a SURVIVOR

You are a BADASS

It’s time to BECOME:

Be the CREATOR of your LIFE

Be the MASTER of your UNIVERSE

Be the DESIGNER of your DESTINY

But the real question is:

Do you want to become an ALCHEMIST and transform your current circumstances into your best version of reality?

If your answer is “yes” then continue to read this post because I am sharing 10 powerful ways to USE YOUR CURRENT CIRCUMSTANCES  to create your desired life.

1. Focus Equals Power

You become what you focus on. The things, people, situations, words, opinions of others, newspaper headlines, Tv news, social media content, someone else’s drama, or even some random comment from some random person you probably won’t meet again can become your reality… but only if you let it.

What you focus on you create. What do I mean? It’s because of this: what you pay attention to affects your later thoughts, your later feelings, and your later behaviors. In other words, you act based on how you feel and you feel based on how you think, or more precisely, what thought you choose to think. Because believe it or not, but you can decide what to think and what to avoid. You truly control the narrative on every single level even if you’re not aware of that.

So if you don’t want to live a negative life, you should avoid negative information, toxic people, other people’s drama, self-limiting beliefs, bulls*it thoughts that can only make you feel awful, powerless, and hopeless.

Stay out of things that do not concern you. Don’t waste your time, energy, and attention on things or people that do not bring value to your life. Instead redirect your focus on yourself, on your top priorities, and on what’s the most valuable in YOUR life.

  • create a list of things you CAN CONTROL and focus on them
  • let go of the things you cannot control
  • study the right type of content that helps you meet your goals
  • unsubscribe and unfollow the people who don’t bring value into your life

2. Overcome Your Limiting Beliefs

What prevent you from taking action towards your goals? Debilitating fear of failure? Demotivating self-limiting beliefs? Or maybe the fear of success is holding you back more than any possible worst-case scenario you could invent?

What if I told you those self-limiting beliefs are the creation of your anxious mind trying to protect itself from the unknown? Actually, that’s exactly what they are. You create your reality with the power of your thoughts. What you think manifests in your real life. And this is how this process of “reality creation” works:

  • The way you think is based on how you perceive the world.
  • Your emotional state is the fruit of your thinking and the action you talk
  • You act in terms of how you feel and what you’re thinking in a particular moment

The key to success is positive thinking and action. This means that by replacing self-limiting beliefs with empowering self-talk you set yourself up for success. Of course, if you brought negative self-talk to perfection it may take a while to defeat self-sabotage but it’s worth the effort!

Ready to challenge your self-limiting beliefs? If your answer is “yes”, here is how you can easily do it:

  • Write the limiting belief down
  • Acknowledge that these are “only” beliefs, not facts
  • Determine what instilled these beliefs
  • Look for evidence
  • Think of how overcoming these self-limiting beliefs would make you feel
  • Determine your new positive beliefs
  • Repeat your NEW empowering beliefs multiple times a day
  • Act as you believe it (you know what they say: “Fake it till you make it”)

3. Fear Is An Illusion

Fear is an illusion of the mind trying to control the uncontrollable. This is why so many people are worried about the future. They are literally terrified of things that could (possibly, hypothetically, theoretically) happen even if there’s nothing to indicate that. But they are fixated on the worst possible outcome because they do not allow even the smallest thought to come to their heads that a best-case scenario is also an option.

We have a tendency to assign our fear more power than it actually has what only creates more anxiety and reduces our chances of success. Mastering the art of imaging the worst-case scenario is something that most of us are doing on a regular basis. Because we need to be prepared for the worst, right?

Well, not really. Actually, the worst thing that can happen rarely does, so why should we waste our time, focus, and energy on catastrophic thinking?

Why is it so hard to imagine the best-case scenario instead of obsessing about everything that could possibly, hypothetically, theoretically (but most likely will not) go wrong? It’s completely insane. If you’re preparing yourself for the worst of the worst what’s the point of even trying to achieve a goal? Well, there’s none.  Because you’re basically setting yourself up for failure.

That’s why when I start a new project or set a new goal for myself, even a small one I deliberately choose to switch from What if to Act As if. Because I truly believe that if you want something, you must act as if you already have it in order to get it. Actually, it is exactly how it works. Sometimes the effect can precede cause (at least in the quantum realm). But again, you got to take that possibility into account. Start believing “impossible” things and they will appear in your life.

4. Happiness Is An Inside Job

Have you ever heard the expression “happiness is an inside job”? Well, that one is true. Because real happiness comes from within and it’s self-created. What comes from the outside world and it’s dependent on external factors it’s not happiness but pleasure.

While there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the things that bring you a real feeling of pleasure and joy you need to remember that pleasure it’s a temporary feeling. Whereas happiness is a state of mind and as such is not limited by time and space. Nor it’s dependent upon external circumstances.

Since happiness is a mentality not a result of a particular situation or event, you should stop looking for happiness outside and focus on creating that “I’m feeling f*cking awesome” state within you.

Now, I’m expecting questions such as:

  • What if I’m sick?
  • What if I’m feeling alone?
  • What if I hate my job?
  • What if I don’t make enough money?
  • What If I don’t like the place where I live and I cannot move out right now?

So what?! Life doesn’t have to be perfect to enjoy it, to feel insanely happy, to radiate positive energy, to connect with others, to smile, to be authentic, to feel f*cking awesome. Actually, life is never perfect because it’s not the nature of life. Besides, even if you cannot change external situations and circumstances, you can always change how you look at them and how you respond to them.

You are fully capable of creating your own happiness. So stop limiting yourself. Get rid of negativity, stop giving a f*ck about things that don’t matter and people that don’t add value to your life. Instead focus on yourself, your top priorities, and your goals. You’ve got this!

5. Nothing Has Meaning Alone

We create meaning. Yet nothing has meaning alone. We create meaning and we bring it to life using the power of our words, thoughts, and actions. Things are just ordinary items and people are some random human beings until we decide to assign them a specific meaning which then serves us for a different purpose.

This meaning-making process serves us to create our own landscape of meanings which is then used as a tool to navigate life, face everyday challenges and avoid drowning in our existential nightmare - the uncertainty.

Going further, we create meaning behind our current situation. This means that we truly control the narrative on every single level even if we’re not aware of that. That is why it is important that you focus on cultivating a positive mindset, developing a positive vocabulary, and imagining the best-case scenario for all situations. It’s the only way to create the life you truly want to live.

You are fully capable of creating your own happiness. So stop limiting yourself, your vocabulary, and your own creativity. Get rid of negativity, avoid creating negative meaning behind your current situation, people you know, or hypothetical future situations, and focus on creating powerful meaning behind everything and everyone that brings real value into your life. That’s all that matters.

6. Pain Serves A Purpose

“Pain is inevitable but suffering is optional”.

The pain appears when we experience something traumatic but suffering is the fruit of our storytelling. Pain always serves a purpose but suffering is truly a choice. Every painful experience has a valuable lesson to teach you, while suffering is the result of the narrative you choose to describe what has happened.

That’s why you can always turn the pain you feel into wisdom. Your wounds ultimately become your personal strengths helping you to reach your full potential and create the life you truly want to live. But to be able to do that you need to choose the right narrative to describe your experience, the one that will not allow suffering to ruin your life.

When my dad died from ALS two years ago I thought that the pain I was experiencing would literally kill me. The first thing that came to my mind after receiving this news was: I am not going to make it. And being completely honest with you I wanted to give up.

But at the same time, I knew there were two options: the pain I was experiencing could either kill me or make me stronger. The choice was mine and mine alone. And I choose the second option. I did that because I wanted my dad to be proud of me.

All I knew was that my father’s death would completely change me and I wanted it to be a positive change. You cannot even imagine how desperate I was to find a way to turn this painful experience into positive growth and meaningful change

I accepted pain as inevitable but I choose not to suffer. And that was the best decision I made in my entire life.

If you’re still wondering why I am telling you this it’s because I want you to know that if you’re going through a particularly tough time right now, don’t give up. You can turn your pain into your power and wounds into your wisdom. You can turn even the worst life experience into something positive, meaningful, and beautiful - into a valuable lesson. Where there’s pain, there’s always an opportunity to grow and find clarity.

7. The Present Moment Is The Only One That Exists

Which psychological time zone do you live in currently - the past, present, or future? Are you still grieving your past self and past pre-pandemic life? Or maybe you’re afraid of what will happen next?

I’m not going to lie, staying in these two psychological time zones seems to be very tempting. I’m not arguing that. But at the same time, living in the present moment still remains the best option available. Especially if you consider that so-called NOW it’s the only moment that truly exists. We live in the eternal now. Everything else is your past history or your vision of the future.

The more you live in the present moment, the more joy you bring into your life. So let go of the past because it cannot be changed and stop worrying about the future because you live NOW.

Live happens to you NOW. Because you can ONLY live NOW, you can ONLY take action on your goals NOW, the only moment you can make a life decision is NOW, you can mindfully respond to the situation you’re in ONLY when you’re in that particular situation, you can create your own happiness NOW and probably the most important thing you can do ONLY in the present moment is to take a deep breath.

Life is NOW, not yesterday, not tomorrow. You are safe in the NOW, because NOW it’s the only moment you have full control over. The past is history, the future is unknown so why even bother. You cannot change the past, nor you can control the future. That is why you should focus on the HERE & NOW.

8. Risk-Taking Leads To Success And Happiness

Living within your comfort zone makes you a manager of your circumstances who desperately tries to maintain the status quo. Change is seen as something undesirable, highly dangerous, and detrimental because it could upset the order of the universe, your universe. Thus should be avoided at any cost.

The thing is, in such a world there’s no place for growth, spectacular accomplishments, and deepest connections. Everything is well-known, predictable, and rather monotonous. Not very encouraging, is it?

Great things don’t come from your comfort zone. They happen just outside of it. Furthermore, everything you’ve ever wanted, needed, or desired can be found outside your comfort zone. But you’ve got to take the first step.

Pushing your boundaries, challenging yourself, and making yourself uncomfortable is the only way to reach your goals and make your dreams come true. Because if you learn to get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable  two things will happen:

1st: you will conquer your deepest fears that block your progress

2nd: you will unlock your full potential so much needed for achieving exceptional things.

So if you want to accelerate your growth and success, it’s time to move out of your comfort zone, seek discomfort and create the life you want to live. And here are some, tips that can help you achieve all of that:

  • think about all these things that you’ve always wanted to do but you were too afraid of even trying
  • write everything down
  • create your discomfort list (activities between comfort zone and panic zone)
  • create an action plan to conquer your fears (one at a time)
  • schedule and organize your so-called “discomfort challenges”
  • challenge yourself and get comfortable with feeling uncomfortable
  • track your progress
  • celebrate both small achievements and big victories

"Nothing happens in life by accident, nothing occurs by chance. Nothing takes place without producing the opportunity for real and lasting benefit to you. The perfection of every moment may not be apparent to you, yet that will make the moment no less perfect."

— Neale Donald Walsch Tweet

9. Use Your Past To Change Your Future

In my opinion, and it may be an unpopular one, the past doesn’t exist at least, not in the present moment. And since it doesn’t exist NOW it does not define you. What defines you, though, is how you perceive your past and what narrative you choose to describe it. Because the narrative you decide to use to describe your past greatly affects your state of mind, your current behavior, and the choices you make on a daily basis.

That is why you should choose the right narrative to describe your past. The one that will motivate you to become the best version of yourself, not the one that will make you feel like the victim of your own life. Regardless of what happened in your past don’t let it haunt you.

The truth is, whatever happened in your past it happened for you, not to you. The pain you felt, the experiences you had, the thought moments you had to get through happened for you to make you stronger, wiser, tougher, more resilient, and humble. So it’s not what happened to you or what you did that defines you but how you perceive that particular experience, what did you learn from it, and how did it change you.

So the real question is:

  • Are you constantly limiting yourself thinking about bad things that happened to you?
  • Or maybe, you made a conscious decision to use the pain from the past to build a stronger future?

If the second option resonates with you, you’re going the right way. But if you usually opt for the first one it’s time to close the door to the past and open the door to the future. So instead of relieving the past events, mistakes, and experiences over and over again, take from your past whatever you can learn your lessons, and leave your past where it belongs… in the PAST.

10. There Are No Mistakes, Only Lessons

We like to fixate obsessively on mistakes we’ve made in past. It’s our natural tendency. We love to beat ourselves up for the things that we’ve done as if could change anything. We adore thinking about what you could have done better, differently, or completely avoid. As a consequence, we usually stay too long at our own pity party. And it’s not fun at all.

The truth is there are no mistakes, there are only lessons. If something happened it basically means that it had to happen. You did something because in that particular moment in your life you felt it was right for you. And that’s it. Now all you should do is to draw conclusions on that, learn your lesson, and face the consequences of your actions (if you have to). Then you should move forward because staying too long on your own pity party isn’t going to help. Unless you want to feel much worse.

The truth is, ‘Life is a lesson. You learned it when you’re through.’ We all have to make certain mistakes to learn important life lessons. We learn through experience, mistakes, and pain. We usually need empirical evidence to know that it’s better not to do certain things. So basically we have no choice, we just need to collect that evidence.

Sometimes we just need to learn the hard way because we’re too stubborn, too arrogant, or just too lazy to listen to our inner voice and trust our intuition. So despite hearing our inner voice screaming we do the opposite. That’s how we learn not to make the same mistakes again and again. That’s how we get to know the truth about ourselves. It’s called the journey to self-discovery.

Every mistake is a valuable lesson. So if we feel you’ve made a mistake please take advantage of this nice opportunity and learn something. At least it’s how I do it. And it works. And more importantly, I wouldn’t be the person I am today, I wouldn’t be where I am now and if I didn’t make my mistakes. So instead of beating yourself up for the bad things that you0ve done, owe your mistakes because hey made you who you are today!
